ASC Commissions Artist to Create "Auto as Art" Sculptures Artwork Assembled from Components Supplied by the Company Debuts at North American International Auto Show. The pieces, entitled "Documentation", made their debut at the 2004 North American International Auto Show. The Sauve sculptures are intended to be part of an ASC Sponsored tour promoting the automobile as art to colleges and universities in the year ahead.
"John Sauve's unique use of automotive components to create expressive sculpture provides a wonderful venue not only to highlight ASC's commitment to great design as expressed in low-volume speciality-vehicle production, but also to show students and others that the automobile itself, from the exterior panels down to the frame, truly is art," said Mark Trostle, ASC's president of Creative Services. "We have long supported, and recruited students from, many of the nation's leading design and art schools, and we look forward to sponsoring John in his upcoming tour with this display."
