Downtown Ferndale is ARTWN.
From street art to art fairs, billboard-size canvases to pimped pots, artist created bus stop
benches to colorful building murals, Downtown Ferndale’s existing public art inventory has
satiated some of the demand for public art but it has also whet the public’s appetite.
Consistently and repeatedly, stakeholders have asked for more.
With generous support from MotorCity Casino Hotel, the Ferndale Downtown Development
Authority is ready to deliver as requested. The DDA has partnered with renowned curator
John Sauve to make Downtown Ferndale an outdoor gallery featuring the work of
America’s leading sculptures – from coast to coast AND locally grown. For the next two
years, these sculptures will stimulate conversation, perhaps stir controversy, inspire others
AND establish Downtown Ferndale as the ARTWN it is.
